Jack Pierce

I am an artist and educator based in Dublin, working mainly in the discipline of textiles. I am driven mainly by material processes and explorations; interpreting, altering and reimagining my world with experimentation and play. My interest in a sustainable future has led me to explore alternative fibres and to develop an understanding of the entire process of creating textile artefacts. My fascination with design and millinery has stemmed from an interest in sculpture and fantasy, creating pieces that help people to escape reality. My practice questions ideas of societal norms and gender roles, aiming to open up conversations about our future and our place in it.
